KOLLOQUIUM DER LUFT- UND RAUMFAHRT UND GEODÄSIE
Form Follows Flight
Inaugural lecture by Mr Jun. Prof . Ing. Jan Liedmann
The optimised design of structures is essential for high-performance, lightweight and sustainable aerospace systems. In this inaugural lecture, modern methods of structural and multidisciplinary design optimisation will be presented, which enable a holistic view of aerodynamic, structural and manufacturing requirements.
technical requirements. The focus is on gradient methods for topology and shape optimisation and the associated direct and adjoint sensitivity analysis, as well as their application in current and completed research projects. The lecture gives an insight into the contribution of optimisation to accelerated development and increased efficiency for design processes of aerospace structures and shows how computer-aided design processes open up new areas of innovation.
