Dr Wenzel successfully completed his habilitation on 23 January 2025 with a scientific lecture entitled "Advances in the understanding of compressible turbulent boundary layers" and the subsequent colloquium. He was subsequently awarded authorisation to teach (Venia Legendi) in the subject of fluid mechanics. He is thus authorised to give lectures in this subject independently and may bear the title ‘Privatdozent’. At the meeting of the Grand Faculty Council on 6 March, the Dean, Prof. Stefanos Fasoulas, presented him with the habilitation certificate and the certificate of appointment as a private lecturer (PD).
